Oakland Unveils New Community Mural!

WHAT: Community Mural Unveiling
Approximately 50 attendees are expected to attend the unveiling of the new community mural in Oakland, located on the exterior wall of Sorrento’s Pizza Roma on Atwood Street. The new mural is a collaboration of the Oakland Planning and Development Corporation (OPDC), Moving the Lives of Kids (MLK) Mural Project, and local community representatives.

The event will be free to the public and complimentary refreshments from the neighboring Farmers Market will be served to all attendees, in addition to hot apple cider, compliments of Caribou Coffee. The MLK Mural Project artists will also be conducting a free interactive mural activity for guests interested in participating in public art.

Founded in 1970, OPDC is a community-based organization dedicated to building a better Oakland through job placement services, neighborhood preservation and investment programs, resident volunteer efforts, and community engagement.
