Despite rain, 4th Furniture Sale successful!

The 4th Annual Oakland Furniture Sale was held on August 28th and 29th and even though rain showers made us change the location of the sale, we were able to raise $5,500 to help fund the Furniture Recycling Program in 2010. The big event was held at the former Three Rivers Fitness Center on Fifth Avenue in Oakland. From kitchen tables to comfy recliners, OPDC had it all – and at a great price!

Furniture SaleOver 60 volunteers helped out at the Furniture Sale, lifting and moving furniture around, cleaning items, assisting with deliveries and even handing out flyers in the rain to tell people that the Sale had moved! Our event cannot take place without your help and we greatly appreciate your participation.

Don’t forget about us! We will resume collecting furniture at the end of April 2010, so you have plenty of time to think about what items you can donate to the program.

The Oakland Furniture Sale was sponsored by the Oakland Zone Neighborhood Partnership Program, 1-800-GOTJUNK?,  Moore Self Storage and the Pittsburgh Partnership for Neighborhood Development.  We thank you for your support!
